Stretching, Toning, Strengthening, and Relaxing

In addition to relaxing and stretching, Yoga postures relieve tension, gently but firmly, strengthen and tone the deeper supportive muscle structure and improve organ and glandular function.

In Judith’s classes considerable attention is given to releasing the effects of sensory motor amnesia; the process by which muscles forget how to relax.  Over time yoga reestablishes the ability to relax deeply and teaches us to maintain a relaxed attitude throughout our day.

Yoga increases circulation, improves body tone, posture, organ and structural function, appearance and mental attitude. You can expect to experience greater ease of movement, increased sense of well being and deeper more restful sleep.

We work with breathing and body awareness to facilitate stress reduction and  reduce susceptibility to the harmful effects of hectic lives. Each student is encouraged to work at his or her own pace and receives individual attention and encouragement.

In all of Judith’s classes movement is slow with ever increasing attention and awareness.  And because we each move at our own pace and ability, each class is safe and appropriate for a wide range of participants.
